About US

Mindy Chen Hi, my name is Mindy Chen. I was born in a small village outside Liuzhou, China. I immigrated to USA in 2012, and I became a citizen on October 14, 2015. It was one of the best days of my life! I love America so much! Here are some tidbits about me:

I love America because it’s so free, so clean, people are so honest and friendly, the nature is so beautiful, the government can be trusted, and all the wonderful different foods (yum!). I still remember my first pastrami sandwich!

I got my passion for hard work and entrepreneurship from my mom. When I was 6 years old, it was at the end of the Cultural Revolution, we had so little food and money that my mom broke the law by buying food from some farmers. However, my dad was so scared for the authorities that he reported mom to the police, and they arrested her at once. I still admire mom for being so brave!

When I came to the USA, I wanted to get a job, but my English was very weak, so nobody wanted to hire me. However, I refused to give up. Finally, I was hired by a very large massage center in LA, even though I knew nothing about massage, and I was also too petite. The first year, I was only allowed to do foot massages. I did more than 6 foot massages every day, 6 days a week, 52 weeks resulting in 1,894 hours of foot massage experience in my first year. Guess what? I’m pretty darn good at foot massage!

During these first couple of years, whenever I was not working on customers, I gave free massages to any of the other more experiences massage therapists at center. In return, they taught me how to be an expert of numerous massage techniques including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Sports, Shiatsu, Lymphonic, Thai, Hot-stone, Reflexology, Acupressure, Backwalk, etc. etc. Now, I have more than 10,000 hours of professional massage experience, but I still visit other therapist, because I always want learn to get better.

My dream, with Massage-Escape, was to make real top level massage affordable and easy to access for everybody. Therefore, we’re always open 7 days a week. We do appointments, but we’re also happy to take walk in customers. We charge only $70 for a full hour of massage (not the 50-minute “hours” some centers do). There are no up-charges for different techniques. Every therapist is tested by me personally, and they must have a minimum of 1,000 hours of professional massage experience.

What truly makes me happy is each time a customers tells us how much better they feel. Thank you USA and Reynoldsburg for making this possible! I hope to see you soon!
